The Past Passed

Fact is,to you,what I say now doesn’t matter,
What matters to you is not what you hear but remember.
Nothing is true unless it suits you,
Changing such a mindset is the one thing I can’t do,
It’s just as it is,its what you’re used to
Just like how whoever hurt you has to hurt too.

The time n energy that’s meant for you to heal,
Is instead exhausted by your attempts to inflict unto others the pain you feel.
Post past pessimism’s permitted to prevail past present positive scenes.
You are driving a car with a rear mirror the size of the windscreen,
Barely seeing where you’re going,
but crystal clear where you’ve been.
It’s not the darkness you’ve seen,
but the pain n darkness within
that let insecurities forged by the past, develop into an inability to secure the future.

At this point the past is all that you know,
even if you wanted to, you can’t let go,
You belong to it, and it will not let you Go.
You failed,and the past passed,
Simply because you held on instead of letting it pass.

When the past is worshiped as a guide rather than studied as a lesson, we walk in circles, returning endlessly to the place we first departed.

  1. Wow, this concept is brilliant, and I love this line, “You are driving a car with a rear mirror the size of the windscreen,” that is so clever!!! Great job!!
